Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, commenced operations in 1950, becoming one of the first commercial airlines established in the Middle East.

Today, Gulf Air is a major international carrier serving 43 cities in 24 countries spanning three continents.

Boasting one of the largest regional networks with multiple daily flights to ten regional cities from its hub at Bahrain International Airport, the national carrier is well-positioned to provide seamless connectivity within 3 hours – making it the ideal airline for business and regional travel.

Furthering this proposition, Gulf Air’s network reflects a strong focus on maintaining strategic business and leisure links with key global destinations. In 2015 to date Gulf Air has launched services to two new Saudi Arabian destinations: Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz Regional Airport – Gassim – and Ta’if Regional Airport – Taif. This supplements the airline’s network growth and development in 2014 which saw Gulf Air resume flights to Sialkot, its fifth destination in Pakistan, the Iranian capital city of Tehran and the Greek capital, Athens all in the first half of the year while the latter half of the year saw the airline resume flights to Shiraz. Gulf Air affords travelers with a flexible and convenient travel proposition, with an expanding footprint in strategic locations across the globe from the Indian Subcontinent which in 2014 saw the airline launch its sixth India destination: Hyderabad, to the Russian capital city of Moscow, a route that was also launched in 2014 and that marked the strengthening of political, business and tourism ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Russian Federation.

Alongside its ongoing network development, Gulf Air continues to strengthen its role as a key national infrastructure asset, one that strategically operates to deliver direct and indirect benefits to the Kingdom, providing business links which are important for Bahrain’s wider economic development.
