Bahrain mourns the loss of one of its greatest talents of the 21st century, Mohammad Jassim. The accomplished artist was gifted in the art of movie editing and 3D graphics.
Winning many awards and much recognition throughout his career, Mohammad Jassim started drawing from an early age. He then received his training in computer drawing and digital graphics in 1998. In 2002 he started his professional career on television while working on commercials and national advertisements as an editor, graphic designer and director.
He got his big break in the cinema industry in 2011 when he wrote and directed his much acclaimed film, The Power of Generations. The short film contained a lot of technical and visual effects that would have been usually seen in big budget international films. In 2012 he won the award for Best Foreign Mixed Media for his movie at the International Family Film Festival.
Throughout his career The Power of Generations won many awards such as The Award of Merit at the Indie Fest Film Awards in 2012, Best Shorts Competition in 2014, and another Award of Merit for the Accolade Competition in 2014. Among his other works that were nominated and/or won are; his short documentary Hodgkin’s (2014), another short film Person’s Life (2012), and a short animation The Last Drop of Oil (2012). He also came 3rd in the Gulf Film Festival 4.
Mohammad Jassim transformed the world of graphics and visual editing and contributed greatly to the film industry in the Arab world.
