Under the patronage of Princess Sabeeka Bint Ebrahim Al Khalifa, wife of his Majesty the King and the President of the Supreme Council for Women, Riyadat Mall was established to help promote and develop the skills of Bahraini women. Providing this public platform, Princess Sabeeka has sought to empower Bahraini women through Riyadat Mall.
Princess Sabeeka emphasises greatly on the importance of females being seen as equal to their male counterparts. Riyadat Mall encourages Bahraini females to overcome difficulties and help provide income to support their families and lead to increase their livelihood and their economic security. The initiative helps promote innovation and creativity amongst Bahraini females and further enhances their talents.
Located in A’Ali, Riyadat Mall has stores and restaurants owned independently by Bahraini females. This project was set up by the Supreme Council for Woman in alliance with Bahraini Development Bank and Bahrain Centre for Industrial Development, to help women to find better work opportunities. Through means of Tamkeen subsidies, the businesses are provided financial help and business development advise.
Riyadat Mall hosts a variety of eclectic stores such as Pachachic, Babushka, Roya Café, JooJoo Flowers and Sweets, Make Up Store and Showcase 101. This issue we spoke with Sign-A-Memory owner, Fatima Al Alawi, and her unique concept of personally designed Arabic and English greeting cards.
