The Kingdom’s one-stop-shop to a luxury tailoring experience
Nothing defines the sophistication and confidence of a man more than a well-tailored suit. Almost like a second-skin, it becomes part of his identity, and brings with it an air of je ne sais quoi that allows the wearer to feel poised and self-assured. Throughout the ages, the significance of a well-fitted suit has not gone unnoticed – from the businessmen, to the groom, to even a popular TV show named after the apparel, a suit has held one of the highest ranks as an attire that exudes class and refinement. For business Talal Faqihi, it was not enough to just own a well-made suit, and took the art of tailoring and offers his customers a new experience in tailoring by bringing the tailoring to them to ensure they are fitted in the best. Talal spoke to Perle Magazine about Tailor Made, which is more than just a business, but rather a passion to make sure his customers are always looking dapper.
Finding his beginnings in his career in the aviation industry, Talal initially had not planned to work in the atelier world. Getting his Ground School education at Oxford, United Kingdom, followed by flight school at Orlando, Florida, before returning to Bahrain and taking over the family business of tailoring, which has been set up since 1964. Already having a firm understanding of the business, it was easy for Talal to delve into the industry, but adding his own advancements. “I never thought I would be in this industry, but once I was in it, I got the idea of wanting to provide services of more than just an average tailor. I wanted to create something different and introduce a new modern concept of tailoring”, he explains. While working with his father in the shop, Talal saw the tailor and driver waiting for customers to arrive and help them, and got inspired to create a mobile tailoring service, bringing the best quality products and tailoring to the customers’ doors.
Talal brought to his clients services that range from bespoke suit tailoring, corporate apparel, delivery service, tailoring of uniforms and alterations, as well as retail of suit accessories such as ties, belts, and bow ties. As the business grew, more services were added such as retail of fabric for the traditional Arabic Thoub, and vests to go with it or individual vests for a 3-piece suit. How the business works is initially a client will call to book an appointment with the tailors, which are available to meet at any location of the customers’ choice. Once those factors are determined, the tailors show the customers an array of fabrics and colours to choose from, and upon selection, measurements will be taken. Once the items of clothing that have been ordered are ready, customers are informed and have the option to either pick up the suit themselves or have it delivered to them. Working with some of the finest fabrics and brands in the industry, Talal mentions they work with brands such as Dormueil, Loro Piana, Huddersfield Cloth, Fine Worsteds, Cerruti, and many more, as well as a wide range of fabrics such as worsted wool, super wool, mohair, cashmere, mixed wool with silk and cashmere and much more that the customers can choose from to create a suit exactly to their liking.
Opening a store recently in Moda Mall, Talal explains that is just the first step to brand development and hopes to expand the business further in the future. “Consistency is key. Our main focus is on quality and consistency”, Talal says and adds to ensure they achieve the perfection they aim for, they have to stay focused and be up for any challenges that come their way. Talal adds customer satisfaction is their utmost priority and he, along with his team, will make sure they work towards each individual need of the clients. “Give us a try, and rest assured you will not look back.”
